Brian Maas, RPh

Brian Maas has spent 40 years crafting his pharmacy, PBM, and consulting expertise. Prior to becoming a clinical consultant, he was with PCS, Medco/UnitedHealth Group (UHG), and Medco/Express Scripts, Inc. He was responsible for maintaining and improving concurrent and retrospective drug utilization review (DUR), serving as a Clinical Account Executive for key accounts, implementing and maintaining numerous custom formularies for UHG, and serving as Senior Director of Formulary Operations for the Medco book of business. Brian has presented at national conferences, including the annual MediSpan Summit.

Brian’s first time with PSG was from 2015 to 2019, where he served as the Lead Consultant for the Hospitals and Health Systems segment. He then worked for Confidio as a Senior Clinical Consultant and was part of the merger between Confidio and RxBenefits. Brian returned to PSG in October 2022.

His awards include the PCS President’s Award for Outstanding DUR Leadership and Excellence in DUR Review, the Medco President’s Award for Best Practice, and Employee of the Year (2020) while with Confidio. He earned a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy at North Dakota State University.
