Mike Kolodij, PharmD

Vice President - Health Plan Consulting

Mike Kolodij uses the knowledge from his days working as a pharmacist in the community setting and multiple positions in managed care as a PBM and payor, to better serve his current clients. His role as a pharmacy benefit consultant with PSG includes assisting clients with procurement of vendors for pharmacy benefits and other pharmacy-related services.
Mike is passionate about Medicare, which is a growing market, due to people aging into eligibility. He has found particular enjoyment in working with a client to build a Medicare Advantage plan from the ground up.

Mike uses his considerable expertise to give his clients sound advice on how they can:

  • Leverage tools and best practices to manage total drug trend
  • Deliver high-quality benefits to their members
  • Be competitive both financially and from a quality perspective

Before Mike joined PSG, he held the role of Pharmacy Programs Manager and Medicare Pharmacist at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island. There, he was especially proud of his work on a model to place pharmacists in physician practices. The notable program improved outcomes for patients, saved approximately $37 million in avoided health care costs and increased formulary compliance, which saved time and money.

His experience also includes working at Express Scripts in Clinical Operations, CVS Caremark in the Clinical Review Department and working as a pharmacist at Rite Aid. Mike is a licensed pharmacist in Rhode Island and New Jersey. He holds a PharmD degree from the University of Rhode Island.
