Carla Goetz, PharmD

Clinical Consultant - Employer Groups

Carla Goetz has more than 33 years of diverse experience in pharmacy benefit management, the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare consulting, and academia.  Prior to joining PSG, Carla spent 18 years as a clinical pharmacist in various roles including account management, clinical program development, and operations with Medco Health Solutions/Express Scripts.  Her responsibilities included providing clinical consultative services to health plans and employers to assist in the development, implementation, and management of pharmacy benefits.  Carla also was responsible for development and implementation of select drug coverage management programs.  Additional experience in the PBM area included her position as Director of Clinical Services for Eagle Managed Care, part of the Rite Aid Corporation.  In these roles, Carla combined her clinical expertise and business acumen to assist clients in making informed decisions about their pharmacy and healthcare benefits. Within the pharmaceutical industry, Carla served as a member of a field-based medical team supporting Pfizer’s and Hospira’s biosimilar portfolios.  She was responsible for building awareness and advocacy for biosimilars among medical thought leaders and payer decision makers.  For Skysis, as a member of the Market Access team, she consulted with biopharmaceutical companies, assisting with development of market access plans and strategies. As an educator, Carla served as an Assistant Professor at both Duquesne University and the University of Maryland Schools of Pharmacy.  Her clinical practice was in emergency medicine and toxicology. Carla earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University.  She also completed a Drug and Poison Information Residency at Rhode Island Hospital and a Clinical Toxicology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
