PSG 2006 National Consumer-Driven Health Plan Pharmacy Benefit Survey

During September and October of 2006, PSG conducted an extensive national survey of plan sponsors concerning pharmacy benefit management in consumer-driven health plans (CDHP). PSG in the spotlight:

• PSG is one of the few pharmacy benefit consultants to be invited by the Utilization Review Accreditation Committee (URAC) to participate in its efforts to develop and approve the first set of national accreditation guidelines for pharmacy benefit managers. PSG has long believed that such standards are needed and is excited about the possibilities for improvement in quality and accountability following URAC’s efforts. Dr. Kathryn Canaday will represent PSG at the URAC review meeting on November 30th in New York City.

• PSG’s Dr. Mike Medel will be speaking at the 2nd Annual Consumer-Centric Healthcare Congress. Dr. Medel’s topic will be Best Practices in Contracting with Your PBM.

• PSG’s Dr. Mike Medel has been invited to join the editorial board for the industry-leading publication, Drug Benefit Trends. PSG is excited about this opportunity to make Dr. Medel’s and PSG’s analysis of important developments in current drug benefit trends available to a wide reading audience.
